Your box arrives prepared and tested for your Growatt model. No app, no driver, no tools, and not a single setting to change on your inverter.
The supplied cable goes into the RS485 port of your Growatt inverter; USB-C into any phone charger.
Join the box’s Wi-Fi from your phone, pick your home network and set a password. No app to install.
Open the dashboard in any browser, add it to Home Assistant, and set your alerts.
Pre-configured for your model
Growatt is one of the most installed inverter brands in Europe and well beyond. The usual way to follow a Growatt hybrid is the ShineWiFi or ShineLAN stick, which sends the data to Growatt’s servers, then the ShinePhone app or the web portal. It works, with two catches: the figures arrive with a delay of several minutes, and when the internet or the servers are down, you see nothing.
Growatt Monitor takes the local route. It connects to the inverter’s RS485 Modbus link and reads the registers directly: solar strings, battery, grid, house load and the energy counters of the day. You get a screen next to the inverter, a dashboard on your phone over home Wi-Fi, and Home Assistant sensors that update every few seconds. It only reads; your priority settings and your Shine stick stay as they are.
Live power flows instead of a cloud refresh every few minutes, so your automations react while the sun is still out.
PV1 and PV2 voltage and power, total solar power and the day’s production.
State of charge, charge and discharge power, voltage and temperature from the inverter’s battery side.
What you import, what you export and what the house uses, from the inverter’s meter readings.
Load First, Battery First or Grid First: you see which one is running, and when it changes.
Settings stay as your installer left them, and the local dashboard keeps running without internet.
See solar, battery and grid from anywhere, and get an e-mail if the box goes silent.
Know when the battery is full and the panels have more to give: the moment for the washing machine or the water heater.
Every value in Home Assistant or Jeedom in about a minute, to drive your own automations.
Follow your customers’ systems with your own Cloud access, without asking for their passwords.
Growatt Monitor tells Home Assistant how much the panels produce, in real time. Four simple rules, and the washing machine, the water heater and the car use your sun instead of the grid. Watch a day:
Your solar production
Your consumption
Automations
Logbook
Simulation of a sunny day for a house with 5 kWp of panels, a 10 kWh battery, a car that needs 10 kWh and a water heater. The energy delivered to each appliance is the same in both scenarios; only the timing changes. Your figures depend on your system, your tariff and the weather.
The dashboard puts the four flows of a hybrid system on one chart: panels, battery, grid and house. You see when the battery reaches full and the surplus starts leaving for the grid, the right moment to start the water heater or the car. In the evening you see what the battery covers and what you still buy.
The free Cloud shows it from anywhere in the world and keeps up to three years of history, separately from the Growatt portal.
Pick a moment of the day: this is what Growatt Monitor shows you, live, about your Growatt system. Values simulated.
A Growatt hybrid shares its day between panels, battery, house and grid. The free Cloud shows that whole picture from wherever you are, string by string, with import and export totals kept for three years, independently of ShineServer.
Every reading of your inverter, refreshed on its own, on your phone.
Solar production, consumption, grid and battery, day by day.
Six hours without news from your box and we tell you.
Home Assistant, Node-RED, a widget… no port forwarding, no VPN.
Everything stored, ready for your spreadsheet.
Your installer sees the system without your password; you keep your own access.
Optional: your box stays fully local if you prefer. Switch the Cloud on or off in its settings at any time.
How the free Cloud works →PV per string, battery state of charge and power, grid import and export, house load and the priority mode become sensors. Your automations can use your own solar instead of exporting it.
When sensor.growatt_monitor_grid_power shows more than 1500 W of export with the battery above 95%, the water heater or the heat-pump boost switches on.
The wallbox is enabled while export stays above 1.4 kW and paused as soon as the house starts importing again.
If PV1 produces less than half of PV2 at midday for a week, a notification suggests checking for shade, dirt or a loose connector.
When sensor.growatt_monitor_priority_mode changes from Battery First to Load First, you get a message, so a forgotten setting never costs you a cloudy week.
Type the address of Home Assistant in the box, a user and its password: that’s it. The Growatt Monitor device and all its sensors appear on their own, ready for your dashboards and the Energy page.

Growatt hybrids expose an RS485 Modbus link for monitoring, next to the links used by the meter and the battery. The box connects to it with the cable we prepare for your model and is powered over USB-C; its colour screen shows the live figures next to the inverter.
It shares the design of Pylon-Monitor, our Pylontech battery monitor, with an RS485 / CAN board and firmware that reads the Growatt register map.
Each box is prepared and tested in France before it ships, by the team that makes Pylon-Monitor for Pylontech owners.
